Is this a result of the 90 minite "Threads" episode of SG:1?

Now that they're just showing reruns of "Andromeda" why not move it back an hour, and slip in a filler episode of "Amazing Stories." Or they could slip in "Battlestar Galactica: Propaganda and War." Except for some reason they only show that at 5:30 in the morning. I think the reason is because when they looked at it they realized how stupid it is (am I the only one who's seen it?). They claimed it was "Cable in the Classroom," and the info button said it was about sci-fi writers telling stories about propaganda, but there were literally no references to non-BSG sci-fi!

Mustex, I find myself agreeing with you on this one. HOG looks like an excellent episode.

"Cable in the Classroom" works something like a public service announcement. Teachers are legally allowed to make tapes and use them in a classroom setting. www.ciconline.com/default.htmis the official site. I can't tell if this keeps them from having to air PSAs, or if the get any US govt. subsidies for this. But my guess would be that they wouldn't do this unless they have to.

This is a real shame. I've seen HOG (I hate that acronym) and I think it is an excellent episode, even though some aspects of it are a little contrived. It contains one of the best space battle sequences I've ever seen on a TV series. This would have created a ratings bounce that might have carried over for the rest of the season, but the time change is going to hurt it.
As to Propaganda and War, I saw it. The Cable in the Classroom series is meant to get kids interested in a subject by relating it to something that entertains them. Teachers are supposed to register with Sci-Fi, tape the show and then show it to them at school. It doesn't hurt that it helps promote the show. In that context, I don't think it's as bad as you say. It's not really meant for a regular audience, hence why they air it at 5:30 in the morning. There's also a Spanish version.

No Mustex, I am agreeing on the point why are they having it on at 10:30 PM? Somebody had a moving avatar of the Vipers in action for this episode which looked great.

I think it's dumb because it has nothing to teach except for information on a sci-fi show, and hence no teacher would actually show it.

The real story may be the SG:1 episode.
It may get edited back to an hour in repeats/syndication.

As someone who often has to tape the episodes to watch later (due to my busy and unpredictable schedule), I am indeed very happy you for posted that information. Thanks! ;D

Is this a result of the 90 minite "Threads" episode of SG:1? An excellent episode as well, one of the best in season 8, the last 2 a quite poor for a finale
