A couple years ago in college, I had the opportunity to see the first four Trek movies on the big screen again, as the student-run Capen Cinema (late nights in a vacant big lecture hall) held one of their periodic theme festivals (the year before it was Monty Python Movies, which also rocked -- I went in costume as Brian).
The night they showed Star Trek One, I was one of only four people to show up to watch it -- and one of the others was a fellow student known to everyone on campus simply as "Spock", who was infamous for occasionally showing up for class dressed as Spiderman.
Yes, it was quite a spectacle to see on the big screen, even with a crappy print projected on a whiteboard by rank amateurs with a history of misfeeding the reels and melting film stock.
