This is the second time the rumors are flying that he will be pitched an idea to be in it by Ron Moore.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dirk and a few other TOS actors are approached by Moore.
He did want them in the new series.
And based on the show's ratings to date as well as the critical acclaim, I am sure he will continue to try to get them on board.
The worst that can happen is that they say, "Thanks, but no thanks."
The best that can happen is having TOS actors play new roles in the show- like Hatch's Zarek.

Dirk is awesome, I truly hope he gets a decent role and not some bad guy either.
