Whether played by DB or anybody else, I think having Starbuck's father materialize would just strain credibility way too far. 99.99% of the human population has been wiped out. How believable would it be to have Thrace Sr. turn up after being absent for 20+ years, miraculously among the miniscule handful of survivors? TOS got away with it because it was much more of fantasy/scifi story right from the start, and they NEVER attempted to approach the underlying story of humanity's near-extintion in a realistic manner. Besides... that was FRED ASTAIRE!!! Elegance personified and one of the most beloved and respected entertainers of all time. DB just doesn't fall into the same category.
