What kind of spin-of would you like ?
BS = Battlestar BSG = Battlestar Galactica
My favorite is "BSG Cylon Wars". It would be great to see Commander William "Husker" Adama as Viper-Pilot during the era of the Cylon Wars.

I agree, but I would also like to see a back story on who created the Cylons & how it got away from them in the first place. But, yeah, some background on Adama AND Col. Tigh would be great.

I think they should do a spin-off devoted to life on Caprica, along with Colonial Fleet before the invasion. I bet there's a ton of interesting stories about Rosilin and President Aadar (sp?) and Gaius before the bombs went off.

None, i think they should do this show as good as they can make it and then move on to something else.

No real bad choices there. I'd like to see more about the rest of the fleet. There are alot more stories and characters in the other ships.

I still kinda like my idea for a sequel series...this one ends after several seasons with the Galactica finding a future Earth that, unlike in Galactica 1980, is indeed technologically-advanced enough to stand up to the Cylons. So the next week, the same people roll out their new sequel series, about the endless war pitting Earth and the Colonial Refugees against a massive Cylon Empire....
It's about freakin' time we had a real "War and Remembrance" style sweeping war epic in the sci-fi genre.

We-ell, I voted for the Cylon Wars but actually all of those would be good. As long as we don't get into the tired old Star Trek franchise rut and have to watch all the cast getting steadily older and fatter as they come back for press appearance after cameo in a feeble attempt to resurrect the same old, worn-out storylines. You can tell I don't like Enterprise, can't you? ;D

On the face of it, of the listed choices, "Cylon Wars" definitely sounds like the best series.
But Prequels are almost always a bad idea. Let's examine some recent examples of the genre:
Phantom Menace/etc. -- Vastly inferior to the original trilogy, partly because no matter how often he claims otherwise, the whole epic storyline is something George Lucas only came up with AFTER making Star Wars. He did a decent job on continuty in the next two flicks, but coming back to the material after a couple decades...continuity went out the window.
Enterprise -- Holy crap did this show ever tinkle all over the original ST backstory! I stand by my prediction that, at the end of this series, the Temporal Cold War plot will be used as an excuse to hit one gigantic reset button and make the whole series never have happened at all.
Missing in Action 2: The Beginning -- Haven't seen it but heard it sucked.
Dumb and Dumberer -- This movie's ad campaign claimed it was incredibly stupid to make a prequel to "Dumb and Dumber". They then went on to prove themselves right.
The DUNE prequel books -- Haven't read them myself, but my Dune-fanatic friends who have all agree that they are far inferior to the original novels.
Even when Babylon 5 (which WAS plotted out in its entirety, including the prequel, before frame one was filmed) did a prequel, they had to change bits of the established backstory because, upon actually filming those scenes, it just worked better with the changes in place. But "In The Beginning..." doesn't quite count as a prequel, because as stated above, such an episode or movie was intended to eventually be made right from the beginning.
As far as I can tell, the only truly successful prequel I can think of is "Muppet Babies", which didn't HAVE to try and fit to any set plot continuity or established timeline.
So, no, I don't want a Galactica Prequel, certainly not using established characters. For one thing...since we KNOW Adama and Tigh (they'd never resist the chance to have young Tigh) both live to be in the main series...any time either of them got in a tight spot, there's be utterly no chance of them NOT getting out of it.
Now, a Classic Series prequel about the Thousand Yahren War...set on a Battlestar other than the Galactica, Atlantia, or Pegasus...that MIGHT be worth seeing...since we could set it far enough back that we'd not really risk trampling on the original series' timeline or continuity at all.

I think "BSG - Cylon Wars" can reinvent the prequel-genre like BSGTNS. They should base that series on the BSG-VideoGame. It is like a prequel. The look of the new series can also be based on the VideoGame: www.galactica.tv/colonials/game.shtmlI think it would be quite interessting to see Tigh, Adama and Cain as youngsters... They can aso tell the story about the Cylon-Revolution with this concept. I think Stargate SG-1 will end in the following year (after season 9) and then the Sci-Fi Channel needs a new strong series for friday night. They have Stargate Atlantis and BSG. I think they will make another spin-off of one of these series. I don't think they will make another Staragte-Series because a second spin-off in so little time could be negative for this franchise, so I think they could make another BSG Series.

I'd like to see more about the rest of the fleet. There are alot more stories and characters in the other ships. Same here, only i'd like it to take place in the future. Maybe the first generation born after the destruction of the Colonies, once they've become Viper Pilots themselves. i would assume that the Cylons would still be hunting humans, and this new generation could inject its own ideas about fighting against the Cylons. All the while the Cylons continue to evolve...

Nah, I think they should do a remake of another classic Sci-Fi TV series. "Buck Rogers: The New Adventures", anyone? I'd love to see a Buck Rogers series, not based on Glen Larson's 1980's series, but on the original novella, "Armageddon 2419 AD". THAT would be some awesome television...
