Hey, what if they approved an "Enterprise" mini-series. That way they could make the Trekkies happy, give it something resembling it's former budget, and not get stuck with it.

www.saveenterprise.com/forum2/index.php?showtopic=2849&st=45Here is one that comes to mind, see first post, there are others posts, not whole threads dedicated to bashing BSG, but many remarks within many threads. Most of the anti-BSG posts where made pre-cancellation or shortly thereafter. They have changed their tune on Sci-Fi and BSG because they are under the misguided impression that Sci-Fi will pick-up Enterprise. O.k., point taken. But as for picking up "Enterprise," I think there's a chance (although the budget would be cut). And I would like to be able to give the show a try (I don't get UPN, and have only seen one episode).

Actually they are attacking us, as I outlined in another thread shortly before the announcement that Enterprise had been canceled. Moreover, if you go to Saveenterprise, Trekbbs, of the Star Trek forum of the Sci-Fi boards you will feel the heat. What I see here is the makings of an obsessed fanbase, (and yes I do think that those who crusade for BSG TOS are obsessed). That is part of the reason why I can see Enterprise fans becoming elevated to the stature of BSG TOS fans. They will eventually, come to BSG boards because of the RDM connection and because they blame BSG for the horrendous numbers Enterprise has received since BSG premiered, even though they do not compete with each other. However, in many ways they do, not everyone watches every show and some choose one over the other regardless of when it is on. Others find watching Enterprise less satisfying now that BSG is on, I know I do. I watched Enterprise I have always thought that it was OK, not great but OK, I was always entertained enough for the time spent, now with BSG raising the bar, I feel that watching Enterprise is indeed a waste of time. I went over to Saveenterprize, and read some posts. They were all very excited about the renewal, and I didn't see any detractors. Please link me to the specific thread.

By saying they might become the new TOS BSG fans, do you mean they might attack us (well...we did get their show canceled...supposedly, although the syndication sale might have done it any way)?

OMG, these poor pathetic "TOS-or-nothing" guys need to "man-up" & face the facts, now that BSGTNS has STRONG ratings & is catching on more & more with each new ep that airs it is a bonafide hit & nobody but a few thousand people will be interested in a continuation or rehashing of BSGTOS. I BEG TO DIFFER! TOS IS AN EXCELLENT SHOW!

"The Last Starfighter" would be interesting.

It's a very dark show, so people WILL die. That's a good thing, it amps up the drama. SG-1 took years to kill off anyone, and they picked JANET! Quite frankly I didn't give a rip that she was dead, but if they had killed Bra-tac, recurring character or not, I would have been in tears. It would have been a death scene to rival Spock's in WOK.

It's like a football pool except people bet on when or who might die. Ie for President Roslin it would be does she die? If so how many episodes does she live before she does. Kinda morbid I think. I'm not taking bets on ANYONE in TNS living.

You mean something like a death pool? Ten-to-one the old man is still alive in season two? I should probably know this, but what's a death pool?

O.k., we all get annoyed by trolls who go around bashing one "Galactica," but I was wondering if anyone things that friendly competition is acceptable at some level? For instance, what if there was a "Galactica" scoreboard keeping up with the stories told in both versions, and breaking them down. For instance you could have a category for "episodes," "spin-off episodes (unforunately this WOULD include G80)," "books," "comics," and "video games." You could then have a "total" category.
Perhaps we could even have some friendly wagers about whether or not TNS's "total" category would be higher by the end of the series. The loser has to watch the next G80 marathon on sci-fi, and the winner gets to re-watch the finale of season 3 of "Angel," and drool over how hot Cordy looked in that episode, until they've learned the "Dance of Joy" that the demon guy was doing, and are able to perform it themselves.

I also think that Friends and Enemies should be an idea for the first episode after Kobol's Last Gleaming , eventhough Nothing but the Rain is based on 3 days earlier before Adama was going back to the Galactica in the Mini-series I just thought it would be a good season 2 episode just like I thought The Dance , Out of Hand , Forgiveness , Unexpected Consequences , and They Don't Call me 'Husker' for Nothing , also would be good season 2 episodes after Friends and Enemies ,and Nothing But The Rain would be a great Flashback episode too . WHA I think at some point someone suggested "Nothin' but the rain" refers to the fact that in space you can't here anything except debri hitting your cockpit, and it would "rain" down after you blew something up. I think it should hence be about someone trapped in a damaged Viper, in a debri field.

What if they did a three-part episode, but instead of doing it as part-one, part-two, and part-three, they called it "Nothing but the Rain," "Grab Your Gun," and "Bring in the Cat." Also "So Say we All" is a good one. Or maybe "Into Death and Darker Places."

And I just realized that, due to posting when really, really tired, I confused "TNG" with "TNS" because it rhymed better. I should have used "BSG", which also works. /me suddenly has the urge to write a whole parody script about "The Mooreketeers" starring regular RA posters and mods. Great, now not only am I a fanboy, but now I've been sucked into the deep, dark underworld of Filking... BTW, in his play "Chaos in the Black Tower" Lang made me a midget who works as a modercycle cop when he's not Stealth Marketing. While I'm technically a Senior in High School, albeit a bit short (shorter than any of the boys in my lit class, but taller than MOST of the girls), I'd like to keep Lang's image. Use it in the fic.

No way. Two such deluded individuals would never work together, and as far as I know, Lang has always flown solo. They would simply argue over who was the more persecuted. They would probably also see the delusion in the other, even if they can't see it in themselves. Lang has recently proven this theory by declaring Spider987 a "Stealth Marketer" (ironically he stole that term from Spider to replace "Universal Executive").
