As I stated on a Sci-Fi thread, they have some pretty heavy hitters advertising during BSG. Budweiser is one of them. Obviously, they know the particular demographics of the group that watches BSG, namely males ages 25-54. I did some market research and statistical consultation for a ratings firm in Chicago several years back. That a new advertiser like Bud is advertising during BSG is saying some companies want to get on the band wagon & get their products out to the viewers. While there is a correlation between advertising of that product & the actual buying of it, they are still investing bucks in getting their product in the public's face. And that is a good source of revenue for Sci-Fi and ultimately BSG's continuation. So drink up kiddies and may BSG live long & prosper, KR

They should customize Budweiser commercials for Battlestar Galactica... "Here comes the king, here comes the big number one, (here comes the king), Budweiser Beer -- the king is second to none... the king is coming, just hear the call, When you say Bud, you've said it all, when you say Bud, you've said it all"
. . .
"Oh I love Boomer, and Six, and more Boomers, and more Sixes, and Boomers and Sixes mud-wrestling, and oh what the hell Cally and Dualla can join too, and I love Starbuck and Roslin and Racetrack... and I love Bud!"
. . .
Bud Light Presents: Real Colonial Heros (real Colonial heros!) Today we salute you, Mr. Galactica Restroom Toilet Paper Refiller. (Mr. Galactica Restroom Toilet Paper Refiller) Without your undying commitment, a Galactica crewman might find himself trapped in a stall armed only with an newspaper. (And the corners have been cut!) Like a brave soldier, you storm hostile territory delivering much needed supplies to your men. (Cylons everywhere!) Should you leave one roll? Or two? Or perhaps that giant 10-pound super roll. (And for the Enterprise? None! Hah!) While others rest, you can't… because if there is no roll, Cylons will be the least of the problems for the CIC. (Lt. Gaeta... you forgot to wash your hands!) So crack open an ice-cold Bud Light, master of the Galactica restroom, because if you don't do your business, no one can do their business. (By your command...)

["Cylon-Occupied Caprica" says the caption on the commercial... It's night-time, in the forest, and you can hear a few crickets. In the distance is... something shiny... snap zoom in to show three classic chrome toasters, just standing at the shore of a lake, eyes sweeping back and forth, you can hear the TOS sound the scanning makes, nothing happens for 10 slow seconds. Then with synthesized voices, one at a time...]
Bud... weis... er...

I'm only 18, so I can't drink... When i was 18, that was the legal drinking age. Then they raised it to 21 because at the time, an 18-year old could legally only vote, work full-time, have a credit card and checking account, be eligible for jury duty, get married, be sentenced to death (which is sometimes the same as getting married), file for bankruptcy, or get drafted to fight in a war. Small pittance compared to buying beer, which is really an adult thing.

True, but still the human body and mind do not finish developing until 25, so I'm putting it off until then. BTW, ever thought it was wierd that you can be drafted before you can own a gun?

There's just too many ironies floating around our great halls of justice. BTW, kudos for trying to keep yourself healthy! If you can make it to 25 without drinking or smoking, i say why start then? Unfortunately (but not really), almost my entire family tree is Cajun/French, and we all learn to drink from an early age.

Bud ad with James Callis: "I've got a sixpack on my mind." Bleh. Lame compared to earlier efforts
