O.k., which writer do you most want to see write an episode of TNS. I've recently started on the book "Mind of My Mind," and think Octavia Butler has a good way of writing believable characters that would make her perfect (I also think that Samuel L. Jackson should play Doro if there's a movie, and maybe Laurence Fishbourne can do another body, since their acting is almost indistinguishable).

Hands down... I vote for Joss Whedon.
I would LOVE to see what he could do with this terrific cast.

Not a fan of Joss anymore after what he let happen to BUFFY in the last seasons and his unwillingness to take responsibility for it. However he was capable of utter brilliance early on...
Actually my pick would be ANGEL writer Tim Minear. He did WONDERFALLS as well and I'd love to see James Callis/Baltar in his hands.
And on that note, I've been made into a writer on the SciFi.Com boards for telling someone that the show isn't about to be cancelled. Cool that.

Since I'm a Farscape fan, I have to say I'd like to see Rockne S O'Bannon as a writer on BSG. He came up with some really great plot twists, some of which would probably fit in the Galactica world. Don't know how he'd react to the realism of the show though... Still great plot twist guy!

I'd give Bruce Sterling a chance or Gregory Benford or David Brin.
Paul DiFilipo or Harlan Ellison (is he still alive?)

Ellison has the exact style suited to this series; hell, he fracking created 'dark gritty' science fiction. And he has extensive experience writing screen plays.....a transition some novel writers seem unable to make.
Yeah Ellison! Think I'll write both him and RDM a letter.

Harlan Ellison? New Battlestar Galactica? "And I think to myself....What A Wonderful World.......... Oh----Yeah!" ;D I've also thought Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle would be interesting. Both love hard sci-fi, angst, and stuff blowing up (sometimes really BIG stuff ).

I don't think Harlan could be lured to write for BSG. He's been very reluctant to take on TV projects in the past, and I've read a few interviews with him years ago where he voiced his disdain. I think lack of project control is a big issue for him.

Reluctant, yeah, but he did have a lot to do with B5, which is, IMO, the standard BSG would do well to try and follow.
Suppose I'd have to mention JMS as well. It'll never happen, for the project control reasons you mention with Ellison, but we can all dream!

Harlan (while a wondeful writer) probably won't do it. Too much of a bad taste in his mouth from...was'nt it called "The Starlost"?

If you kept him on a tight leash maybe Kevin J. Anderson could co-write one. I grant you the guy has a reputation for ruining franchises, but he can tell a decent story (see "Saga of the Seven Suns")

If anybody needs me...I'll be in the angry dome... (incoherent ranting and grunting) That's a great way to put it! I may join you there from time to time on other matters. (Incidentally, sorry you're angry - hope you feel right as rain soon!)
