What I Do Like

There are some aspects that have grown on me. The CGI for one. Seeing the Galactica and ragtag fleet is a plus. Some of the ships are from the original as well as some new designs. The space battles aren't bad although some of the fast paced action using what looks like a jerking motion can be bothersome. The new Cylons do appear menacing as shown by the scene when helo is chased by one on Caprica. Do the mechanicals talk like in the original series. I liked the metalic voice sound. HOG looks like an action packed episode.

The toasters havnt spoken yet but they probably dont need to speak to each other, they might have a have a wireless LAN

After a little while you get used to the fast paced battles and get more of a WOW factor and breathlessness feeling, probably because you're holding your breath while it happens, especially in 'Hand of God'

I get the feeling Kingfish is really a TNSer, but won't admit it.

I had a comment that was dubbed inappropriate. How should I put this...O.k., you remember that joke Starbuck made during the briefing in BD, about why the pilot was coming in to hot. I was comparing guilt about liking TNS to guilt about doing the thing she accussed him of doing.

This is of little note, but one thing i find pretty cool is that whenever they show Caprica, the caption reads "Cylon-Occupied Caprica". IMHO, this one little footnote adds a new dimension to the original premise of TOS: one of their home colonies infested with Cylons.

(NOTE: There are many things i like about TNS that i think are "improvements" over TOS, but i'd rather post that under The Original Series Topic, if at all)

I am not trying to be a jerk Mustex but the guy finally makes a positive comment on BSG and you jump on him for it. I can understand that in your case it may just be once bitten twice shy, however, if he is watching and enjoying the GCI, then I suspect he is enjoying the story as well, as CGI alone cannot hold anyone’s interests for an hour.

Give Kingfish time, he is taking baby steps, we should encourage him and not chastise his inconsistencies or contradictions…baby steps.

That's pretty much what I said. Basically I think he does like it, but won't admit it. Oh, and technically this is the SECOND time he said something positive about TNS. When they first put that scene of Helo running from the Cylon on scifi.com for download KF let the words "decent enough" slip out of his fingers.

If he likes the show he does, if not he doesn't. I don't think saying he's guilty about it will help or hurt that progression. While there are certain TOSers who will never come around, primarily ones who would rather eat charcoal that watch TNS even for bash-gathering purposes (i.e. Spider987, Languatron, Viperqueen...), guys like Kingfish can't help themselve.
