for a Season 2 pickup. So unless Episode 4 does terribly in the ratings next week, I think it's almost certain that BSG gets a second season. Who in their right minds would cancel this gem right now? Certainly not Sci-Fi. This could well be the new franchise for SciFi as it promotes its original programming in the years ahead! SO SAY WE ALL! ;D KR

I think in general people will be looking forward to "Act of Contrition", there are so many positive reviews out there about the ep, it can hardly failto pull in the viewers. I can see whats the main comments about it will be focused on, Sex of course.

So say we all.
I'd love a second series but I think that would be enough, it's so unique I think it could easily be ruined by having it go on year after year as actors steadily get replaced and the quality slowly goes down. A second series would be great.

I'm hoping five seasons myself...and with a 13 ep shooting schedule, that leaves plenty of opportunity for the actors to choose lucrative and gainful off-season acting jobs so as to prevent actual loss..
But then, there I go again- getting ahead of myself...

If Ep 4 is the make-or-breaker for the renewal, I'm confidant that it's going to get picked up.
It's probably my favorite until ep 10, "the Hand of God."

I agree that I have a feeling that it's going to be picked up because I can tell a good episode coming when I see one and I know I'm going to like it no matter what , and It's even going to be my favorite episode as well .

From what the Brit fans say about episode # 4 the show is a lock for a 2nd season!
But just in case :
"Lords of Kobol, hear my prayer, and grant this awesome show its deserved second season, and while we're at it, grant BSG TNS a full seven seasons, and lots of Emmys, if that's not pushing it, oh Lords of Kobol."
There, that should do it! ;D

I repeat my statement in the final ep discussion thread: who else is for gathering together a burning-torch-and-pitchfork mob and storming Sci-Fi HQ if they do experience brain failure and fail to pick up season two? ;D

You'd have to get in line behind the angry Farscape and MST3K fans, not to mention the Invisible Man, First Wave, etc. fans. And I'm sure there are even one or two people still annoyed at the death of "Mission: Genesis".

Aren't SciFi's Channel's offices in New York? Maybe people in TOS Cylon outfits can stand in front of the building with big "Renew Galactica", "Let the Fleet Live" and "Save Adama" signs. Sing Kum Bi Ya. Snarl up traffic on the Ave. of the Americas for blocks. Oops...sorry just delusional. Saw there were plenty of addresses and contacts for mailing them, epecially in Farscape campaigns, but probably wouldn't be enough time. I hope they check these boards. Or is it just all numbers to them?

I'm ready to fight!! Those jackasses at SCIFI have been known to do really stupid things in the past, so get the troops ready, WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK!! They had better barricade themselves in their corporate HQ if they don't renew BSG TNS, 'cause we're storming the frakin' base otherwise! ;D

I remember that Moore stated (very early in the production process) that the last episode of season one would not be a cliff hanger. Obviously something changed either the fact that it was so well received in the UK or that Sci-Fi liked what they saw and gave him a sly nod.
I cannot believe that for any reason, be it money or whatever that this show will not be picked up for a second season. It is too good, both in the ratings and press, it just makes no sense to think otherwise. It is not like Firefly which was a good show and the critics liked it but the public was just not watching and in the end the network was not going to take a chance on hoping the ratings would improve when the price tag was too high. BSG has the ratings that justify both the price tag and renewal.

Obviously something changed either the fact that it was so well received in the UK or that Sci-Fi liked what they saw and gave him a sly nod. Now that's the kind of conspiracy theory I like! I cannot believe that for any reason, be it money or whatever that this show will not be picked up for a second season. Fingers crossed so many times they drop off, people! ;D I'm right there with you, ladyrheena!! caseOrange & I will bring the catapults & plague-ridden corpses! I'm ready to fight!! Oh, wait, I suppose we'd better wait until they give us a decision before we start laying seige to anywhere. COME ON SEASON TWO!!!!!
