I have to agree. I loved TOS but I think that the IDEA is the key here. The new show is excellent. I'm also a huge Star Trek fan. I loved TOS and TNG but my favourite was always DS9.
Have the right combination of characters and story and it doesn't matter which incarnation you may or may not think is better. It's all down to the individual watching.
Still.....someone once said the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one.
BSG certainly caters for the many. It's an amazing version of an amazing IDEA.

I really don't get it. It sounds like active campaigning for a "reunion show" (like the kind that Carol Burnett does every 10 years or so), and those are so awful. It seems a little perverse and I don't get it. I've seen posts on other boards that get pretty passionate about it. What's that all about? It was cool, but it wasn't THAT cool.S. Truer words were never spoken... It seems that the sons & daughters of Baby Boomers never want to let go of their childhood interests. Although I am a child of Boomers, I have realized that a lot of crap from my younger years should stay back there in time! BSG TOS was a great concept----I repeat---- CONCEPT. The reimagined product we now have is what I would have wanted to see in the first place! I for one would rather an improved "re-hashing" of an old show than an oldster reunion of the original cast! Look at all those stupid "Brady Bunch" reuinion shows that they used to air. Then someone finally made a new movie with fresh actors & new plots & it was a success, & garnered a sequel. If Richard Hatch got his way & they "dug up" all the surviving cast members from BSG TOS & did a new continuation it would probably do OK in the ratings department, but most would probably view this "new" incarnation & remember why it died in the first place. I was at my parents house recently & they were so stoked that the "Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited" was coming on TV. I watched a little of it & it was OK but I kept thinking to myself "MAN, THEY ARE OLD!" I think the same would happen if Hatch got his way! I would be too busy countin' the wrinkles on the original cast members faces & lose track of the plot. Happy Holidays, SO SAY WE ALL!

Probably get one specifically for the UK Ah, British Isles please! Even if I am the only person in Ireland, I'd like a little more room to move about.
