To be honest the last two eps of the series have began to make me wonder if the President is a cylon. I am beginning to assume the Cylons don't want the fleet destroyed, as it seems they could do so rather easily. Rather they are deliberately leading the colonials to Kobol and so forth, perhaps through a high-ranking Cylon. I have to admit Laura is the most human out of Adama and her. She cares for her people, though she is capable of making ruthless decisions. Also she seems to have been a little too taken in by the whole "Adama is a cylon" riff. I mean - why on Earth would a Cylon agent tell her there was another high ranking Cylon on board? Methinks it is some sort of keyword to activate her programming. And of course there is the dream as well. The Cancer? Could this be some deliberate limited lifespan for the model, maybe something key is meant to happen in the next 6 months. Curious that she was only diagnosed with it on the day of the attack... perhaps this was when it 'activated'? Maybe she imagined the doctor? Dunno.... I'm hoping I'm right as it means more Mary MacDonnell, as being one of the 12 models Cylons is a guarantee for more screen time after the cancer takes effect. Given how dark BSG is I don't expect a miracle cure to be found! I'm not sure, but could it be the human cylons want to reproduce? Certainly I get the impression No. 6 wants to have Baltar's children and it may be he has been chosen as the father of a new race of human-cylons? I also noticed that the President said in the mini, "They're going to have to start having babies" or something. If this is the Cylon's plan, then this just proves what I am saying. Certainly it made me worried it could have darker meanings than what we thought. Anyroads, the great thing about BSG at the moment is no theory is too bizarre... and my theory certainly fits. Doesn't mean its correct of course. Remember the Olympic Carrier!

I'm not so sure, but if she is, it would follow the pattern of all female Cylons being totally hot

Yes, Definitely, you can take that to the bank. Roslin is absolutely positively a cylon. she's the biggest cylon to have ever Cy'd a Lon and one day I will be vindicated. (I think.)

why i think she's NOT a cylon:
1) cancer (despite the good theory presented to 'explain' it in this thread). 2) the cylons would not necessarily have known that she would be the "next in line" for power. i think 42 people ahead of her in power had to die to put her into the President's chair. I know the cylons plan, but that's a LOT of dangling bits to pre-plan 3) the dream - I'm of the belief that the cylons are able to PROJECT their thoughts into the minds of humans, either as the result of VERY close contact (baltar/six-glowing back), or while they are in a receptive state (Roslin was DREAMING).

Yes she is a Cylon. I dreamed it was so last night. I also dreamed that I opened the refrigerator and saw within a beautiful sunlit beach with large and fun looking waves. I stepped through my refrigerator and my english teacher from fifth grade asked me where my homework was. I told her I forgot it at home. She didnt believe me and I could tell she was very dissappointed. Then I was driving in my first car really fast on the freeway. I loved that old car, Datsun 510. Topped out at 120 easy. Then I woke up. So yeah, Rosyln must be a Cylon.

I know the cylons plan, but that's a LOT of dangling bits to pre-plan I agree with you that Roslin isn't a Cylon, but this particular reason doesn't really apply. The Cylons knew exactly which government ministers would be off-world during the attack, and could have predicted Roslin's acension to the Presidency without too much trouble. I think a better question is: if she's a Cylon, why have they been trying so hard to destroy Colonial One? They lobbed a pair of missiles - which Apollo barely destroyed - and then another pair - which he managed to spoof - and then nearly destroyed the ship at Ragnar and again in "33"! Why lob so many missiles at your own best agent?

The writers of this will also introduce alsorts of side lines to wander off into. Nothing is as it seems (and then again, balloons pop at times

I think the core characters, with the exception of Boomer, are a safe bet to be human. Plus I heard that Baltar's cylon detector is just a scam anyway, so they'll have no way of knowing regardless.

I'm sorry did that sound mean spirited? Just trying to introduce some humor. The writers are creating an environment of paranoia in the fleet. The Cylons are planting the seeds of doubt in the crew and leadership. Who is a Cylon? Who isnt? Reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode where all the aliens have to do to destroy a community is turn off the power and do a fly by. The community then destroys itself in paranoid accusations. One solution to paranoia in a group is to interject a little humor. I am talking about the crew not the fandom. Comedians and class clowns help calm nerves and put things in perspective. Also, nothing is as funny as humor in a bad spot. Imagine if Boxey were running around wearing an old Cylons armor; shouting "By your command" Or the crew holds a Cylon themed party..... Okay maybe I'm a geek.

Well they had a Cylon themed party in the mini, and Cylons responded by invading Caprica and the eleventeen colonies, man! I don't think the Cylons like being made fun of...

Imagine if Boxey were running around wearing an old Cylons armor; shouting "By your command" ...and then everybody opens fire and blows him into teensy tiny Boxey McNuggets. Hey, that would sure cheer me up! ;D

Actually the thing I want to see is a cylon dog. if there are cylon humans, why not cylon dogs? It could be called Muffet and be Boxeys best friend... then Adama brains it with a flashlight.

then Adama brains it with a flashlight. ROFL! On another note, the two scenes in the miniseries that utterly convinced me BSG was not going to be another Star Trek clone was that exact scene (with the flashlight) and the one in which the President abandons ten thousand people and little Cami gets nuked. Neither of those scenes could ever happen in the Star Trek universe.

Neither of those scenes could ever happen in the Star Trek universe. That's a really, really good point. Killing a baby in the first half hour of a new show (especially with the goddamn cornflake crunching foley effects on that scene, I felt positively ill) is a pretty good clue that something is different. I like that heroes are becoming a little darker in character. Sometimes a lot darker. I wonder where it's taking us as a culture sometimes, but it's an interesting trend. Strong trend. Even bloody Earthsea used it. xo S. who really liked Pitch Black
