So glad I wasn't the only one that thought that. It's just a bad pic. Trust me, Yancy Butler is a babe. Tough, yes, but a babe nonetheless.

What about Linda Fiorentino? If you don't know who she is, rent the movie The Last Seduction.
I like a lot of the previous choices, but most of them are unrealistic. Half those actresses wouldn't be interested in a role in BSG even if, by some remote chance, they were offered the role. You need someone who's good looking, can play the tough chick, but is currently unemployed or not too in-demand.

So with the ratings doing good and the quality of the show like it is, it is possible i would hope they could get some bigger names. Honestly though, I do like it when there are unknowns cast. I think that is what makes this show so fresh. I've never seen most of the actors before.

Doing the whole Pegasus/Cain/Sheba thing, but they should change the names. Pegasus just sounds too wussy. It should be the Battlestar Ass Kicker or something tough. The name Sheba, yuck. I never did like that name. Besides, not everyone could or should have some way cool Greeko/Roman name anyway. She’d could be all weepy and blubbery all the time either. But she--it should be a she--couldn’t be a Kara Thrace clone either. She’d have to retain that ‘tough as nails/cocky as hell fighter pilot’ quality, but she should be Kara’s polar opposite. Long hair, lipstick--a more girlie girl type. Her and Kara could be rivals. In that kind of setup, it would be interesting to watch them vie for Lee’s attention. I mean, let’s face it, that’s where they’re going with Kara anyway.
But, I digress. Yeah, I could go for a Yancy Butler type. Maybe not her exactly. Someone who’s not a lot of done sci-fi. Yancy’s got the whole Witchblade thing.

I can't see Sarah Michelle Geller doing a series for sci fi to be honest after the success of the Grudge.Since this is charachter driven sci fi I would have to go with Kellie Martin she's never done sci fi and that seems to be a norm thing for the actors they have chosen for this series. She's a great actress and was really amazing on Life Goes On.Remeber Sheba was around Lee's age.Kellie is in her twenties and is really cute to boot.

I still think Claudia Black would be the ideal choice, the name actually suits her

I'll say it again...for the sake of RDM's casting consistency, Sheba has to be a

Male? ...mmm!...oh yeah...
Christian Kane!!! He can play as villian very well or as a hero but still look somewhere cold. Which can be good opposite of Lee and perhaps Starbuck. He's so hot, and he can fight well, umm maybe with swords which will be no good at BSG. Oh well. One can just dream...

ViperChickKaliyla, Sheba was a character from the original '78 series. She first appeared in the Living Legend episode and was played by Anne Lockhart. She was the daughter of Commander Cain and eventually became sort of a love interest for Apollo. She was a viper pilot/warrior. Here's links about the 2 part Living Legend episode: Sci-fi.comSci-fi.com
