this is something that has allways really pissed me off!!!
BSG is fantastic as we all know and theres no aliens in site - no real technobable and whatever little there is its understandable if these kind of ppl would give these things a chance they would see how fantastic the writing is and would probly be amazed with the maturity of themes they touch on 9/11, genocide etc....

From syfyportal www.syfyportal.com/article.php?id=1299Anne Lockhart In New BSG? Author: Michael Hinman Date: 03-02-2004 Source: SyFy Portal "Battlestar Galactica" executive producer Ronald D. Moore said that he was very interested in bringing back some familiar faces from the original series. And it looks like he might have been successful. According to a series cast listing at TV Tome, actress Anne Lockhart is listed as playing Lt. Sheba in the new Sci-Fi Channel series that begins filming next month. Lockhart, 50, is best known to Galactica fans as Sheba in the original series, and also for being the daughter of June Lockhart of "Lost In Space" fame. Lockhart's most recent film project was the 2002 film "Disconnected." Over her career, she's made more than 50 guest television appearances, including on shows like "Quantum Leap" and "Knight Rider." Please note that none of this has been confirmed by Sci-Fi Channel, so please treat this information as you would any other rumor.

I think its cos scifi is still seen as a geeky thing and the core audience of the BBC or ITV only wants to see short run dramas, reality shows or crappy soaps like the laughable eastenders.

It would be amazing if the a channel like bbc or itv picked it up for a primetime slot - and replace the crappy reailty or period drama or sport theyve got on
Of course im dreaming there most likely 5 would pick it up they show some good stuff CSI, CSI Miami, Various Law and Order incarnations and I think there gonna put lost on

The UK scifi channel is really really crap and it doesnt have many good scifi shows on it I think in recent time the only things they had first was Invisable Man and series 3 or 4 of alias the only thing i can thank them for was re-showing farscape after bbc's run which enabled me to get into it.
