Can we post speculations here, or does that verge into spoiling territory?

Yes, I thought the same, though the look between Six and Baltar when they heard the gunshot contradicted it?
Why would he/she want Boomer dead? Fear she might become a rogue Cylon? Fear she might be revealed as a Cylon?
Incidentally, I was very interested that Boomer seemed to "know" it was Kobol - she replied to Crashdown that it was more important than just finding a planet or something like that. I wonder what it meant?

Absolutely. Considering I've been mapping the timeline through my reviews, this is a "Doh!" moment for me, as I should have realised the implcations of the glasses & dress sooner and put things in perspective, timeline-wise (i.e. approx. 24 hours between teaser and Act 1). Glad to have been useful

Ernest You're right - but I think the pictures are ordered a bit differently from when I visited in October and wrote a thread "predicting" all 13 episodes on Media Blvd. I got 12 and 13 utterly wrong because of the ordering then.
Yes, there are images in 12 that look like edits - Boxey, etc. Without spoiling 13, there are images of someone else being shot that certainly do belong in 13, and images of someone walking down the aisle of a theatre that are obviously part of the same sequence as shown in 13. Very irritating.
Most mystifying to me for months was the blue box Kara seemed to be holding out to Lee. Took a detailed viewing to see that it was the cap from her water bottle.
Oh well, we will know soon.

Three things
Isn't the montage at the beginning of the episode (with music over it) set in a different timeframe than the rest of the episode? That's often what montages do. So Kara and Baltar having sex there is three days before they meet again in the mess room. So it is the same dress, and she leaves his room the morning after the ball the night before?
The pics on Gateworld are out of order for 12 and 13. 13 has images from 12 in, so there are no deleted or expanded scenes. What you've seen are spoils for 13 in effect. I don't think the people putting the images up knew the order, so they guess and grouped them as seemed sensible.
Lee and Kara - I thought there was quite a bit of sexual tension between them. It seemed evident even in the mini with the picture of her, Zak and Lee. I don't know why, but I get the impression they were lovers in the past?

One of the things that interested me very much was how Rymer directed it the opening sequence so as to confuse us about whether we were seeing past, present or future (given reprise and trailer sequences used in this show.) Very cyclical.
Also, sometimes it seemed almost as if we were peeking in on scenes - we got half of them or joined midway through. Very nice, if initially confusing. Better than some of the flat direction of recent weeks.

Safe to put this up.
Kobol’s Last Gleaming part 1
The episode opens with flashbacks to scenes of the Cylon Raider, Boomer on Galactica and Caprica, and the Cylon devices (weirdly some of these flashbacks are to things edited out of the episodes)
These blend into complex intercut scenes of Lee and Adama boxing in the gym; Helo running away on Caprica; Boomer with a pistol in her quarters, and Kara and Baltar making love. BSG Boomer contemplates suicide; Caprica Boomer asks Helo to shoot her – he does. Kara cries out Lee’s name while coming; Adama hits Lee hard in the face “I thought we were just sparring!” says Lee; “That’s why you don’t win” he replies.
Titles and flashforwards
The Fleet. Roslin is being examined by the Doctor while Billy looks on; Later she tells Elosha “I have six months at the outset.” Elosha tells her that she knows Laura will lead them to salvation, to Earth. “Then we better find it soon…” Laura replies.
Cards in the mess. Baltar, Lee and others play. “I always win” says a drunken Baltar – and Six is disappointed in his arrogance. Kara enters to Baltar’s evident interest; “Call me Mr Vice-President please” he says and invites her to sit next to Lee; embarrassed she demurs and leaves.
Roslin is discussing business with Baltar; She tells him that he must be ready to take over if anything happens to her. Goaded by Six he tells her he is finding the role difficult. “I’ve had it. I’m tired of being pushed around” he says to Six/Laura. “You need a break…” Laura suggests.
Baltar is in the bathroom - Six smashes his face in the mirror. “It’s not safe to remain on Galactica” she tells him. “A little surprise is coming…”
Adama is on the bridge as Boomer’s Raptor is ready to jump. Jump! She and Crashdown arrive instantly over a blue planet – too close! It is beautiful and the readings are perfect. “Is this Earth?” asks “No” replies Boomer. “It’s more important than that…
Helo on Caprica, in the rain across from a wounded Boomer, pointing his pistol at her, both are worn out. She tells him he has to understand, she isn’t a Cylon, she really is Sharon too. He fires a near miss. “All I want from you is a way off this planet” he shouts.
In the hangar Kara works on the Cylon Raider. “Going hunting” says Lee? They talk – about Baltar. Lee knows they have had a one night stand. They spar verbally and then trade blows. “Why’d you do it?” he asks. “I’m a screw up” she tells him.
On Colonial 1 they discuss the Raptor’s findings. There is a ruined abandoned city, perhaps 2000 years old. “Around the time the 13 tribes left Kobol” says Elosha as they look at some images from orbit. Suddenly Laura has a vision – instead of the ruins she sees an inhabited city. She describes it and they compare it with drawing of Kobol. It is Kobol – birthplace of mankind. “It’s real” says Laura – “the scriptures, the prophecies, they are all real.”
In her quarters Boomer plays with the pistol again; Baltar enters looking for Kara. “A bad time?” he asks. They talk. Six tells him he knows she’s a Cylon – “The model is weak, but it will carry out its mission.” “Why not sleep with her”, she taunts. Baltar talks to Boomer, tells her “There are worse things than death. Listen to your heart. Embrace the right decision.” He kisses her forehead and leaves. We hear a gunshot…
Examining the map, Adama says it might be Kobol; they should consider permanent settlement here. Send three Raptors to survey. Six tells Baltar to volunteer – he doesn’t want to be on Galactica when it happens... He does and they agree. Roslin asks to speak to Adama privately.
Tyrol visits Boomer in the infirmary – she has a wound to her face. “What’s going on?” “Every day I wake up and wonder who I am, if I am going to hurt someone” she says. “I’m here” he says. “No you’re not” and she dismisses him. He salutes and leaves.
Roslin is talking to Adama: according to the scriptures, the Arrow of Apollo, will open the tomb of Athena and show the way to Earth. “But there is no Earth.” “We were wrong” she tells him. Adama clearly thinks she is deranged – they’re just stories, myths, not reality. Roslin tells him this is reality - the Raider has been fixed, it can jump to Caprica, retrieve the arrow and they can use it. He refuses.
On board the Raptors, they jump – right into the middle of a Baseship and a fleet of Raiders! Combat! Evasive maneuvers! Baltar’s Raptor is hit and descends rapidly. Another Raptor is destroyed and one jumps back to Galactica as the wounded Raptor barrels in… it depressurises and comes in for a crash landing – hot and hard.
Gaeta is examining the Cylon devices – they are IFF transponders, letting Cylons identify each other as friendly. Suddenly - a report that a Raptor has returned. They get details from the crew. To rescue the others they need to nuke the Baseship. Tigh reports Kara has developed a plan to use the Raider on autopilot to get a nuke onboard a baseship. “The Raider…?”says Laura. Lee chews Kara out on the hangar – she does not take plans to the XO without his permission. He won’t allow death or glory missions from his pilots. Sad, she tells him she is sorry…
Billy and Laura argue – “she can’t risk the fleet… for a drug induced prophecy” she finishes the sentence. “Get me Lt Thrace” she tells him. “You can’t be serious” says Kara. “Leoben told you this would happen” she tells Kara. “You believe in the Gods, don’t you? We are playing our part in the cycle of time.” Kara replies “It doesn’t mean my part is to go on a mission against orders.” Laura responds “My part is that I am dying… a dying leader takes humanity to the promised land. If you go to Caprica..” “This is crazy but it doesn’t mean it isn’t true.” No says Kara “The old man will take us there – he knows the location.” “Adama lied” Roslin tells Kara. “Go ask him.”
Adama and Kara talk. “Can I ask a question? How much longer till we reach Earth?” She senses he does not know…
Kara is in flight on board the Raider, ready to test the autopilot…She asks to speak to Adama on a scrambler channel. “I believed you, in Earth.” “What are you doing?” “Bringing home the cat.” “Don’t regret anything you do” he tells her. She jumps away – where to? “Home” says Adama…
To be continued…
Ref the edits - my understanding is that so far they weren't in the US airings either - eg the footage and the duration of the eps is the same UK to US.

There has been no real sight nor sound of the Cloud Nine (admittedly a wonderfully-ironic name) in the fleet until now - and this is being passed off as being because she has been "under repair".
Isn't she the domed ship that seems to be in half the flyby shots we've seen in the series so far? Seems quite a few sightings to me.

Pre-credits sequence of clips about Roslin’s cancer and Starbuck’s injuries.
We open with a press conference on Colonial One. There are tough questions about the fleet’s low state of supplies. “Is it true we only have enough tylium for two more jumps?” Roslin is asked “Yes she replies… and is distracted by a hallucination of snakes twisting around the microphones. Cut to Boomer and Crashdown in a Raptor, searching for tylium ore. They find an asteroid loaded with it – and loaded with Cylons too! They beat a retreat back to the Galactica.
Title sequence
On the command deck, the senior officers discuss the situation. Tigh and Lee discuss moving on to look elsewhere… but Adama declares they will take the ore from the Cylon refinery/base and catch them with their pants down. But if they fail...
Starbuck is briefing the flight crews as Adama enters. She has heard they are planning a mission...
Roslin discusses her use of the kamala root and the images it has been giving her with Elosha, the Priestess. The snakes are an omen from a Pithian Prophecy in the sacred scrolls… they tell of a Leader who finds the promised land, but who will die before reaching it...
Adama and the command crew discuss the plan of attack in a briefing room. Starbuck is sceptical and suggests a daring alternative - cut to later discussion of the new plan with Roslin. It involves sending in civilian vessels as decoy bait to draw the Cylon raiders out. Roslin agrees. Cut to a graphic of the base and a briefing with Baltar - where is the refinery most vulnerable and how can they attack without destroying the ore? Musing, he asks Six’s advice: how can they attack successfully – that is, if she wants the base destroyed? Or should that be does the Cylon God? “God doesn’t take sides she says. He only wants your love…” Desperate, he points to a spot in the base - there are the staging tanks full of refined ore. Well done” says Six…
Adama talks to Starbuck in the gym. She’ll have to sit this one out. Starbuck says she’s fit, but Adama tests her with the weights. She isn’t… Instead Starbuck briefs Lee – “You don’t think I’m up to this?” he asks. He tells her he is, though his doubts shine through.
Cut to Caprica: Helo and Boomer are hiding in a barn (caption: 37 days). “I wonder why we haven’t seen any other humans around?” asks Helo… “Hiding in shelters?” Boomer replies. A few moments later she is ill and throws up. Radiation sickness, or is she pregnant?
Adama and Lee are in the hangar the night before the attack. Adama gives Lee his grandfather’s lighter as a good luck charm. Father and son discuss their failed relationship and Lee confesses to his doubts about his ability to lead the mission. Adama tells him not to worry - he is his father's son. And he wants the lighter back.
Cut to Carprica: Helo and Boomer wake up – to the noise of Cylons! Helo looks and sees Six! “But….you killed her!” he says. “We’ve got to go, now!” says Boomer.
The command centre and the mission is underway… everyone waits apprehensively for the Cylon raiders to take the bait. They do, and the strike is underway. The Vipers launch and move on the Cylon base. Adama tells Starbuck of the pressures of command. The Cylons see the attack force and launch the rest of their raiders – and now the Vipers are outnumbered 10 to 1. Combat begins and Vipers and raiders engage. Too hot! “Abort!” orders Adama. The raiders pursuing the decoys hear the message and turn back onto the Vipers too. Things seems to be going wrong – and suddenly the plan opens out. Transmit the scrambler message “the back door is open” orders Starbuck - and from inside the now ignored freighters emerge Lee and a Viper force!
Lee’s Vipers swoop on the Cylon base, heading for the vulnerable point identified by Baltar. Incoming! The base fires on them. The Vipers fire missiles, but they are deflected. Chuckles is killed. Lee has an idea and flies low into the conveyor tunnel of the Cylon refinery… and emerges right in the middle of the Cylon base! He sights the target and drops his bomb. Boom! The entire base detonates as the refined tylium ignites! Baltar is amazed – he identified the right spot. Mission accomplished! The CIC erupts in cheers. Now they have access to tylium ore, enough for two years. The fighters return. Drinks and cigars all round (and a terrible Braveheart-style soundtrack.) Lee lights up with the heirloom lighter and throws it back to Adama.
Cut to Six and Baltar: has he read the Pithian Prophecies? Why? Because “All of this has happened before and all will happen again” she says. And the Prophecies go on to tell that it leads to a confrontation at the home of the Gods… “Are you telling me God guided my finger” he asks? Yes – and Baltar is convinced – “I am an instrument of the Gods!”

According to the ep summaries at Gateworld a Raptor is shot down over Kobol by a Raider - so the Cylons are there already.
Perhaps in their desire to become fully human the Cylons have found two things hard to understand - faith and love. So, they are provoking, or prompting humanity towards a re-enactment of the "bible" with themselves in the role of God in order to try to learn more? Or something like that.

This Ep is several months on and Kara still has a bandage on her knee, talk about realism Why do you say that? From the Helo-count it's all a matter of a month since the first attack.

Won't spoil, but thought this far weaker than Ep 4. Strained credulity at several points, not least in the final act the reviewer praises so highly. Takes all sorts.

I've posted this before - and it is one reason I don't visit here much - but does anyone else have trouble staying logged in here? Every other board I am a member of I can hibernate my laptop, come back and I am still in. This board I just have to leave and it logs me out - if I do a google search now say, I'd be logged out when I come back.
The check box "always stay logged on" - does that require the "time to be logged on" box to be blank? Though I've tried it both ways, blank and not - no difference. Would it work if I put 1 billion hours in there?
I can't believe I'm the only person in the world this happens to - and it's XP with IE6, not something more voodoo.
