I think that someone will cap Galactica Boomer or she'll get shot out of the airlock, after all, she frakin' shot The Old Man, for Gods' sake! Then, I think that Caprica Boomer will go to Galactica with Helo & they will spare her for helping Helo & use her for intel & espionage, & maybe turn her completely to the Colonial side. Remember, Caprica Six said that the Sharon model was always weak! That's why she fell in love with Helo & ended up helping him. Another reason they'll keep her alive is the baby. Next season will be incredible.

20 shows for me the break neck speed at which they have told the story so far can certainly be throutled back a fraction. Knowing What the other 45k people are doing day to day with there lives would be an interesting insight. Ie reestablishing the economy .. Production factoryies for food / Viper parts / munitions, would be quit interesting for me. Granted you cant have this type of episode running one after another but would be a good flesh out of the Society issues. They touched on some of these things in Colonial day... 20 Episodes should not comprimise quality however Agreed! Im sure there ASK for budget per episode has doulbled based on the popularity of the show. Scifi would be mad not to back that horse!!!! Thank you! I don't get how anyone in their right mind would want less than 20 eps! Good Gods, I for one, think that 20 would be appropriate. The writing will not suffer, it will be better 'cause we'll have more eps to explore more of the fleet & the people! More BSGTNS is better. This show is different than all the others, I feel that all involved have been aound & they'll do the right thing with this show! Have faith! Ronald D. "Frakin" Moore is at the helm & he won't let us down. If they only had 13 per season, it is way too long a wait 'til the next season & certain cast members, particularly the very young & the elder few, will frankly look a lot older by the time the next season rolls around! Especially with the season-ending cliffhanger eps, they'll come back the following season & everyone will look like they've aged a year when the ep is supposed to pick up where it left off! I just don't want another "Sopranos", where you'll get a handful of great eps, then it is an eternity 'til you get more & you have to go back over the old shows to remember where they left off! 20!

You all have valid points but I assure you, the ratings & support & fan base that SCIFI relies on is primarily US based. The fans in this country will make up a larger portion of total TNS fans, & we have a long TV season. Plus, if they keep writing good enough stories & dialogue & keep it interesting, they will be able to do a lot of eps with minimal CGI fx & stuff. This show is so good that there could be multiple eps that would never have to venture outside the ships much. The best part of TNS is the characters, & their relationships with one another, & IMHO the battle & space sequences are the secondary element. Plus, if they put more eps in a season, we'll have more reruns to watch between seasons.
Here's why I don't like short seasons, a few years back there was a Britcom called "Spaced". Brilliant show, but only ran for 2 seasons & had only 7 eps per. I borrowed the 2 DVD's from a friend after seeing an ep & I was hooked! I watched both DVD's & then called up my friend asking him if there were any more & he said no. That show should have been on for at least 5 or more seasons!
Over here in the states, we need more eps of really great shows, look at the standard garbage that is on our networks! Mo' is better! ;D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of you who'll vote for a short 13 ep season, you're Brits, huh? You are used to short seasons on TV. BBC rarely has more than 13 eps of a show per season, do they? Well, I for one want at least 20!! Here in the States, we are used to at least 20 eps a season! Short seasons blow! If they extend the 2nd season to 20, it won't get diluted, RDM will make sure of that. Remember, he has seen what that can do in the past, he's a Trek alumnist! He is going to do all the right things with BSG TNS, I have complete confidence in him. C'mon, he's Ronald D. "Frakin" Moore!!!

Olmos is a big enough star for me! I say spend the $$ on great writing, sets and SFX, and pay to keep the incredible cast we have now. Talk about a "deep bench." I love the "deep bench" analogy! Sports vernacular! Love it! BSG TNS doesn't need any big names, what we need now is Dirk Benedict to appear! I think he would be a great guest to have, since we've already had Richard Hatch. This show has so much strength that it can go the distance if it has to without ever getting a big name star, unlike one of my other favorites, "ENTERPRISE", which seems to be free falling into cancellation & desperately needs William Shatner to guest star to boost its ratings! As mjm800 pointed out, we don't want this to be the "Love Boat" in space!

Oh, yeah, here's another good one. When Adama & Tigh are in the cmdr's quarters discussing Kara Thrace & her fight with Tigh:
Adama : I'm not gonna defend what she did. Especially the cracks about your marital problems. But you did kick over the table first.
Tigh : I did not..... unless I did.
That part was hilarious. Hopefully the writers keep giving him the cool lines, 'cause he delivers them with that deadpan expression that is priceless!
***Hey, administrators, someone needs to create a Col. Tigh "smiley", although it should be more of a scowl!***

Best line? In 33 to Adama: "Are you eating this? (with mouth full)" as he consumes cold noodle leftovers. ^ I love that line, also! One of my favorites is in the mini when that first Cylon nuke is headed toward Galactica : Cmdr. Adama : Brace for impact my friend. Col. Tigh : Haven't heard that in a while. Tigh says this matter-of factly about a nuclear missile about to hit his ship! This guy is awesome! He is the grit of the cast, along with Tyrol! These are two men you don't want to frak with! Hogan is obviously a method actor, he literally becomes the character he is portraying! If I were a cast member, I would probably call him "sir" because he has that air about him that commands respect. Clint Eastwood ain't got nothin' on Michael Hogan!

Love Col Tigh - flaws and all. Given the series ending i can't wait to see how he copes with the pressure. ^Please don't put any spoilers in this thread, I'm an unfortunate U.S. fan that is just now getting the series! I know you didn't put any actual spoilers in your post, but I don't want even a hint of what's going to happen. Anyhow, I think that Col Tigh, although hated by some, is going to be one of the most interesting characters in the run of this show! He is fundamentally flawed & raw, but when you get down to it, he is the consummate military man, hard-edged & intelligent, but somewhere below that crusty exterior, there's a heart of gold. Did anyone watch the deleted scenes on the mini DVD? Billy tells the President about Tigh's illustrious family military background, how he is a 3rd or 4th generation soldier, & that he was published twice in military history books & an honored & decorated man until his personal problems began to affect his career. I would love to see a back story about his past. If he never had the problems with drinking & such, he would probably be the Commander of a Battlestar & not just the XO. Can't wait 'til Friday night!

The last role I saw Mr. Hogan in was Tony Legozzo on 'Cold Squad', a Vancouver based show where he played an alcoholic detective with a rocky relationship with his estranged wife....Hmmmm... I like his Tigh character and I don't think if the 'Is that an order' line had been delivered by another character it would have been anywhere near as effective or memorable. No kidding? I would love to see that show! Too bad we Americans in the south don't ever to get to see any Canadian TV! If you could kindly suggest a feature film that he stars in I would go out & rent or buy it! caseOrange & I are good friends & we both dig Hogan's performance & neither of us has ever really seen him in anything before. BTW, Harvester, killer signature! RUSH is one of the best bands ever!

totally agree, Micheal Hogan (along with the rest of the crew) I think have been playing their parts excellent. He does a great job playing an good man with the one major flaw of being in love with the wrong woman. in the scene from the mini when Adama was contemplating Roslin's advice and commented that they should be making babies, Tigh asked "is that an order..." he instantly became one of my favourite characters ^ That's exactly the line that sold his character to me! "Is that an order?" - classic! He delivers his lines with a gritty grace that only natural actors can. He is the perfect 2nd in command, the gruff & gritty side that Adama doesn't have to show. Adama gives orders in a normal tone of voice & when people don't seem to be moving fast enough, Tigh is there to bark out those orders in a tone that gets the crew moving! Hogan should get an Emmy for sure, do they give those out for supporting roles, like the Oscars? Anyway, this guy is every bit as good as it can get! I even liked the scene in BD, when Kara Thrace comes to kind of smooth things over with him, & he makes the crack that his shortcomings are of a personal, not professional nature! This dude doesn't take crap from anyone! ;D

I just wanted to give this guy the credit he deserves! I know that my Canadian neighbors to the north have enjoyed this man's talents for years, but what a treat for us all in the rest of the world! He & his character are quickly becoming my favorite part of BSG TNS. When I first saw the mini, I didn't give him much thought, but as time went on I watched the mini a few more times & realized that Mr. Hogan & his wonderful portrayal of this honorable yet flawed person is one of the brightest points in this phenomenal program. I'm still a huge Eddie Olmos & Mary McDonnel fan & love all the other actors, but this guy seems to get better at each turn! Take the scene from the mini in which he is reluctantly apologizing to Starbuck & watch the way his jaw twitches & his facial expressions speak volumes. It is probably hard to stand out so much when you're acting alongside the likes of EJO & MM & James Callis, but every time Hogan/Tigh enters the picture, I feel that he is quietly "stealing" the scene. Kudos & congrats to Michael Hogan, for he is truly a gem from the Great White North! Like the great sport of hockey, he represents the best of Canada!

My VHS copies of the miniseries (two different airings on the Sci-Fi channel, plus another copy of the NBC airing...geez I'm a fanboy...) has the end credits squashed to illegibility due to commercials airing over the end credits. Anyone with the DVD of the miniseries (I'm a fanboy, but a penniless one) willing to check the end credits on that to see if they give him a full name there? The IMDB is calling him Saul, but I could have sworn it originally listed him as Paul... This is odd, I just went to IMDB to check it again & he is listed as Saul now, but I could swear that recently it said Paul. I used to go to that page to read about the various cast members. It definitely said Paul at one time, because I remember discussing it with caseOrange & I was looking at IMDB & had the mini on at the same time (OMG, I'm also a frakin' fanboy!) & I was telling him about the discrepancy with Tigh's first name(s). Anyway, Big Brother, I just checked the end credits for the mini & it says Col. Tigh - Michael Hogan. No first name given. But I also checked a scene when Adama & Tigh were in the C.I.C. & Adama calls him Saul, I had the closed captioning on.

I repeat my statement in the final ep discussion thread: who else is for gathering together a burning-torch-and-pitchfork mob and storming Sci-Fi HQ if they do experience brain failure and fail to pick up season two? ;D I'm right there with you, ladyrheena!! caseOrange & I will bring the catapults & plague-ridden corpses! I'm ready to fight!! Those jackasses at SCIFI have been known to do really stupid things in the past, so get the troops ready, WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK!! They had better barricade themselves in their corporate HQ if they don't renew BSG TNS, 'cause we're storming the frakin' base otherwise! ;D
