Hopefully September/October (can't come quick enough!) I wonder if SKY will partly finance it again. Although it would be good if it airs simultaneously in the US and the UK (and any other country that broadcasts it). No need for spoilers then.

Yes - i agree with this also. I was someone who actually watched the new series before the original. I didn't realise the original had such a cult following nor was i aware of the backlash the new series received until i went online to find out more about it.
Having now watched the original series i wouldn't want to see Dirk in the new series. As an actor i feel he has a very limited range (sorry if i offend anyone but that is my opinion) I remember watching the A Team when i was younger and although BSG was before this show i see Face and Starbuck as essentially the same character. As you say harvester - there are thousands of actors out there and as the the ratings prove - the new series doesn't need anymore of the original actors to pull in viewers.

I must be in the minority here. Am i the only one who is hoping that they DON'T rehash this episode? By all means introduce another Battlestar, but please develop another story arc - they have the creative power to do so.

Wishes for season 2: 1) An episode dealing with an Epidemic within the fleet. I think that fact that people are packed onto the ships like cattle, and the idea of virus, or disease spreading would be an interesting concept to be explored, especially with limited man power, resources, and places to put the sick. It'd be a very interesting story... when all the other subplots are weaved in... I think it would make a great episode. 2) I'd like to see the gov/galactica, start having to deal with secular matters, such as education, in an episode centered around Boxy (however it's spelled) just a couple of thoughts.... I love the action and the main subplots on the show... but I really like seeing how they deal with 'real' problems that an exiled space fleet would have to deal with Two very good ideas which highlight the endless possibilities available to this show. I know in a couple episodes of the original they tried to highlight the food shortages and the cramped conditions of some of the other ships. Unfortunately, the writers didn't deal with it very well and it was quickly forgotten about. I would like for the writers to deal with issues of housing and education in a more realistic way. These are issues that Roslin would need to be tackling if she wants to get re-elected in six months time. A viral outbreak would be another good one providing they don't have poor Cottle trying to find a miracle cure in 48 hours before the crew all die a la Star Trek! Again if it is dealt with realistically the consequences could be dire given the limited resources. Compulsive viewing me thinks

Don't know whether i would want to see a flashback episode or not but i would love to see an episode which divulges more information on both Adama and Tigh's past. I don't think it has been revealed how long Tigh has served as Adama's XO. I found it strange that in the flashbacks of Zak's funeral Tigh wasn't present. As a friend of the family, i thought the Commander would have permitted him to be there. Even Tigh's wife didn't know that Zak was dead - i found that strange as well.
I found the deleted scene of the mini series where Billy informs Roslin that Col. Tigh came from an illustrious family interesting. I would like to see this touched upon in season 2. Maybe his wife wasn't the only factor that drove Tigh into the bottle.
In terms of Adama, i would like to know more about his part in the cylon war and his career choice afterwards. The bio on SKY was pretty sketchy at best.

I hope it is as good as season 1 if not better. I personally hope that they don't re-hash any more of the TOS episodes or characters. Let the writers get their creative juices flowing and write us some new material without reverting back to the old.

Hope the bet was worth a substantial amount of money Xenu. If he does pay up remember to rub his nose in it on the sciffy board! The rumour that EJO isn't returning is also on the galactica tv board. Where do people get this info from? WilliamHuskerAdama received a reply to her email to EJO and he stated that he intended to go on playing Adama. I mean why wouldn't he? He's the star of a crtically acclaimed tv show which has just been renewed! ;D

Seeing Star Wars on video for the first time (i was too young when it came out at the cinema) at the tender age of five. My friends and i loved it and i remember Star Wars toys being top of my santa's xmas list ;D
I tend to prefer scifi films (Blade Runner, 2001, Alien, Solaris etc) to tv series - although i think i have seen ST TNG all the way through. BSG is the first scifi series that i have really got excited about in a long long time.

..but usually I'm just reminded that I'm a huge a$$ & even if somebody gave me a road map to the perfect relationship, I'd read it upside-down and go the opposite way. And don't even get me started on the one I actually should've married...that's a whole other story... Hey Xenu your still a young guy - plenty of time for Mrs Right to come knockin on your door. Just gotta look ahead - an old cliche comes to mind - what's for you won't go by you. Best wishes

One housemate insisted that we wait until it was almost closing time to go, so that we'd be able to pick up bread and stuff at a reduced price.
;D ;D
Brings back memories...ahh to be a student again.

(BTW, is it true what Michael Myers said, that Scottish food is based on a dare...like haggus, and things like that?) It depends CaseOrange - i actually quite like Haggis but it depends what's in it ( i won't go into the gory details ). Its traditionally served with neeps (turnip) and tatties (potatoes) and should be enjoyed afterwards with a wee dram (whiskey)..or two or three... We Scots do have plenty of concoctions - none very famous i think! Mix it and hope for the best ;D As long as the end result is the same P.S. We do produce the finest malt whiskey and to mix such a fine drink with anything is a tragedy and people found guilty of doing so should be hung drawn and quartered ;D
