Does anybody know where can I download a QUALITY mp3/wave/whatever of the US and UK opening themes?
Personally, I like the US one better, but that's me and that’s what this post is about.
I know that they're coming out with a season one CD, and when it comes out I'll be the first one in line to buy it. But right now, I demand instant gratification!
Any help...?

the UK version I have has been restricted on the audio side but if you want it i can do it. It won't be top titty stuff but probably the best you can get before the DVD comes out ;D

The UK theme has words. But I can't quite make out what is said. Anyone have the text to them. Is it in Latin like I think it is?

The lyrics are: AUM BHOOR BHUWAH SWAHA, TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM BHARGO DEVASAYA DHEEMAHI DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODAYAT. Which roughly translates to: "Oh God! Thou art the Giver of Life, Remover of pain and sorrow, The Bestower of happiness, Oh! Creator of the Universe, May we receive thy supreme sin-destroying light, May Thou guide our intellect in the right direction." BTW, I found this information on the Internet some time ago and saved it to disk, but can't remember exactly where, so my apologies for not acknowledging the original source. Oh, and I completely agree that the UK version is by far the better theme. I hope Sci-Fi changes the US theme to the UK version for the second season. |

I forgot to mention in my last post that I find it very interesting that the theme song makes reference to a singular God. Is this a deliberately monotheastic cylon theme, or did somebody mess up the Sanskrit to English translation? Seems strange that it doesn't make reference to "Gods" or "Lords of Kobol". Can anybody out there who speaks Sanskrit clear this up?

Just got finished watching Hand of God. Did the theme change AGAIN? I was in the kitchen but I could have sworn that the theme was a wordless version of the UK theme?
Anyone else notice this?

Yup, noticed this as well. The theme was slightly different this time. I hadn't noticed ay change until the 'Hand of God' episode (U.S. version). In fact, I know there hasn't been any change until now for the U.S., at least in Oregon, where I live. I have recorded every ep. Changes noticed: Lighter on the woodwind melody, melody itself is different and more subdued, voice before percussion section seems quieter, and the percussion section rythm is slightly different, with a less definite ending. Seems like the ending doesn't meet with the ending graphic (the military logo), like it wasn't synced. I don't like it. What's up with this? Oh, and I haven't heard the U.K. theme. I'll check it out. So does this mean we have 3 or 4 versions of the theme out there? The original U.S., the original U.K., a new U.S (starting with the Hand of God ep), and a new U.K. version without the lyrics? I'm confused.  |
