This board is intended for the discussion of the new Battlestar Galactica series & all things related. All fans of Galactica, new and old, are welcome here. The only rules will be:
1. No flaming
2. No touching!
3. Any obvious baiting/trolling will be shut down with the quickness
4. ALL Debate/discussion/rants/complaints/comparisons/etc. of TOS vs. TNS, if you MUST still engage in them, MUST be done in the Remakes... forum
5. Please do not post SPOLIERS in subject headers, and clearly mark all *SPOILERS* out of courtesy for folks who have'nt yet seen the show...use the spolier font by bracketing spoilers with {spoiler}texthere{/spoiler}, just replace the {} with [] like so:

Q: What is www.GalacticaStation.com? And what is Ragnar Anchorage?
A: www.GalacticaStation.com is a news website for fans of the new Ronald D. Moore-led revival of Battlestar Galactica currently airing on the Sci-Fi Channel, and the home of the forum community Ragnar Anchorage (also the original name of the site). It is named after the station where the Galactica crew encountered Cylon Leoben Conroy while seeking refuge and re-supplying during their initial flight from the Cylon fleet.
Q: When & where did Ragnar Anchorage begin?
A: RA was founded on November 21, 2004 in response to the growing demand for a new Battlestar Galactica community created especially for and by fans of the new Galactica. On 12/31/04, we obtained the domain name www.GalacticaStation.com
Q: Is Ragnar anchorage only for fans of the new Galactica? If I only like the old series, will I get bashed here?
A: No one will get bashed here just because of anything they like or dislike, anyone is welcome at RA as long as they are civil and abide by the rules. RA is a site dedicated to the new version of Battlestar Galactica, but it is run and frequented by folks who have been fans of Galactica for years, so most of us love the old series as well, and enjoy discussing it with other fans.
If you are not a fan of the new series, that doesn't mean you aren't welcome here, but this is a site for people who enjoy the show and wish to discuss it amongst same, and it is not a place to come to look for arguments or to post arbitrary negative remarks about the new series, its creators or stars; those things would not be welcome on any fan board, and they will not be tolerated here either. RA is a very friendly, open community, anyone who treats others with respect and enjoys civil discussions will not have a problem here.
Q: Is this site run by Stealth Marketers or employees of Universal or the Sci-Fi Channel?
A: No, and you don't really have bugs crawling on you, either...
Q: What are those cool ranks that the members have?
A: Everyone starts out as a Nugget, until they get their flight wings with 40 posts and become an Ensign. When they reach 100 posts, they will become a full-fledged Ragtag-Fugitive-Fleeter. When they reach 200 posts, they will be an elite amongst the ranks as a Viper Pilot until reaching the grand goal of 400 posts to become a legendary Lord of Kobol. The site Moderators have their own special ranks, such as Chief of the Deck & Operations Engineer. Sometimes, special ranks are assigned to members for other reasons, and sometimes for none at all.
Q: Can I become a moderator?
A: Maybe, if we have an opening, you are a well-respected poster, and one of the moderators asks you.
Q: Can I write for the site?
A: Yes, you are welcome to send any articles or reviews you have written and, if we think they're good enough, we will post them on the site. See our submission guidelines for more details.
Q: How can I submit artwork to the site?
A: use the submission link or feel free to post it on the boards in the Fan Art section.
Q: I signed up for an account, but why haven't I recieved the confirmation e-mail?
A: Your e-mail client's spam filters probably blocked the confirmation mail from coming through. If you do not recieve a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours, contact an admin & they will activate your account.
Q: Help! I accidentally deleted my account from the board and now all my posts are grey or gone!
A: Yeah, that 'submit' button is really close to the 'delete' button, isn't it? If this happens, first try to re-register with the board with the exact same info you used previously, if that fails, send us an E-mail.
Q: How can I change my display name on the board?
A: In the profiles section, you can make your display name different from your login name if you so wish.
Q: Can I use a banner or a pic in my signature?
A: Yes, but it can be no larger than 500x150 pixels & smaller than 100k, else it will be deleted. Large sig pics clog up boards and make them harder to negotiate for those with slower connections.
Q: Can I post links for downloading episodes or file sharing here?
A: No, links to file-sharing sites, how-to guides, or posting torrents is strictly forbidden.
Q: Can I recieve notice when the news or the site is updated?
A: Yes, click on the links on the front page to subscribe to the site or to add it to your own MyYahoo! page.
